PR1990 1-Wire Key IC
CMOS 1-Wire key silicon — supplied as die or packaged IC.
A CMOS microcircuit carrying a unique factory-lasered 64-bit code — 8-bit family code (01h), 48-bit serial, 8-bit CRC — communicating over the 1-Wire protocol with a single data pin and ground: guaranteed presence pulse, parasite-powered, zero standby, up to 16.3 kbit/s. It supports ROM Search, so several devices can share one bus, and answers ROM Read as both 33h and 0Fh, where a DS1990 responds only to 0Fh — compatible with the widest range of existing readers. The die is our own design, so deep OEM is available: a custom family code instead of 01h and even a re-defined CRC rule, so your controllers accept only your keys. Supplied as die on wafer, packaged IC or canned button.
Key features
- CMOS 1-Wire key silicon carrying a unique 64-bit code in non-volatile memory.
- Answers ROM Read as both 33h and 0Fh (a DS1990 answers only 0Fh) — compatible with the widest range of readers.
- Supports ROM Search (F0h) for multi-device buses; supplied as die on wafer or packaged IC.
- Own silicon: custom family code (01h → any value) and custom CRC rule available for closed systems.
- 2.8–5.25 V, −40 to +85 °C, guaranteed presence pulse, zero standby power.
- Sold to key manufacturers as an OEM building block.

Frequently asked questions
Can PR1990 be ordered with a custom family code or CRC rule?
Yes — the die is our own design, so both are on the table. The 8-bit family code can be set to any value instead of 01h, and the CRC generation rule can be re-defined to your specification, making standard blanks fail validation on your controllers. Both are agreed before the wafer run and suit volume OEM programmes.
In what forms is PR1990 supplied?
Three forms: die on wafer for key manufacturers with their own assembly, packaged IC, or fully assembled in an F5-type stainless can. It operates from 2.8–5.25 V across −40 to +85 °C, is parasite-powered from the data line and draws zero standby power.
