Three checks before choosing a Touch Memory key
Choose the ID behaviour, confirm the physical and operating requirements, then validate the proposed supply version with your equipment.
Choose fixed or rewritable ID
TM1990A-F5 is positioned for read-only, fixed-ID use; RW1990 is a rewritable-ID blank. Start with whether the project enrols a fixed identifier or needs authorised ID programming. Confirm the ID format and coding requirements for the proposed supply version.
Check the drawing and operating environment
Use the supplied-version drawing to confirm dimensions, tolerances, material and holder fit. Describe the expected temperature, moisture and frequency of use, then request the relevant ratings and test conditions for that version before approval.
Validate samples on the actual equipment
Record the reader, controller and firmware versions, then check sample reading and controller acceptance. For RW1990, also record the duplicator and verify writing and read-back separately. A successful write alone does not establish compatibility with the target installation.
