Peel the backing, press it on, route the lead — installed. The TMR-05 is a low-profile zinc-alloy reader with a 3M VHB adhesive pad on the back, so it goes onto a finished surface with no drilling, no nut and no panel cut-out. At 9.87 mm deep and Ø37.02 mm across the flange it sits almost flush, and two Ø4.50 mm screw holes on a 28.80 mm pitch are there if you want a mechanical fixing as well — the wide flange also covers an untidy existing cut-out, which is why it is the usual retrofit choice on an old intercom panel. A green/red LED ring around the contact gives a two-colour answer at the point of touch, and the solid one-piece metal face resists prying, weather and the wear that finishes off plastic readers on a street-facing door. Available in polished chrome, polished gold and satin stainless so it can be matched to the panel or the door furniture around it.

Two wires, one polarity flip — red or green from the same pair

The clever part is the wiring. Instead of three LED wires, the TMR-05 brings out a single pair: drive white positive and yellow negative and the ring lights red; reverse the pair and it lights green. One controller output with an H-bridge or a simple polarity-reversing relay gives you both colours, which is why this reader retrofits so easily onto systems that only ever had one spare output. Add the 3M VHB pad and the fact that nothing has to be drilled, and it becomes the reader you can fit to a rented shopfront, a finished stone facade or a machine you are not allowed to modify — in about a minute, with no tools.
