DS1990A-F5 Serial Number iButton
The industry-standard 64-bit ROM key in the F5 can.
The workhorse Touch Memory credential: a laser-etched, globally unique 64-bit ROM read over the 1-Wire bus. Fully interchangeable with Dallas/Maxim DS1990A-F5 in existing access-control and intercom installations.
Key features
- Globally unique, factory-lasered 64-bit ROM — family code 01h, 48-bit serial, 8-bit CRC. No two are alike.
- Parasite-powered: draws its energy from the data line, so the key needs no battery and never wears out electrically.
- Reads in under 5 ms over the single-contact 1-Wire bus at 16.3 kbit/s.
- Interchangeable with Dallas/Maxim DS1990A on any existing reader or controller — drop-in replacement.
- Rugged 304 stainless-steel MicroCan: self-aligning, survives dirt, moisture and shock, −40 to +85 °C.
- Custom ROM ranges available for ODM — reserve a serial block so batches never collide on one site.

Frequently asked questions
Is the DS1990A-F5 the same as a TM1990A?
Electrically, yes — both present a unique, read-only 64-bit ROM with family code 01h over the 1-Wire bus and answer the same commands, so a reader cannot tell them apart. DS1990A is the original Dallas/Maxim part number; TM1990A is the widely produced, cost-optimised equivalent used for volume issuance.
Can a DS1990A-F5 key be copied or duplicated?
The DS1990A itself is read-only and cannot be rewritten — its ID is factory-lasered and permanent. To duplicate one, its ID is copied onto a rewritable RW1990 blank using a standard TM duplicator. If you need keys that cannot be cloned, use an authenticated part such as the DS1961S with on-chip SHA-1.
What is the family code of the DS1990A?
01h. The 64-bit ROM is structured as an 8-bit family code (01h for the DS1990A), a 48-bit unique serial number and an 8-bit CRC.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
We ship this line from stock and run OEM batches on short cycles. Tell us the model, annual volume and any customization (colour, laser logo, reserved ROM range) and we reply with current pricing and free samples within one working day.
