DS1990A-F3

DS1990A-F3 Serial Number iButton

Same silicon as F5 in the slimmer 3.1 mm F3 can for flush mounting.

Identical electrical behaviour to the DS1990A-F5 but supplied in the low-profile F3 can — same Ø16.25 mm diameter, 3.10 mm instead of 5.89 mm high. Suits flush-mount receptors, adhesive checkpoint mounting and panel applications where the flanged F5 does not fit.

Key features

  • Electrically identical to the DS1990A-F5 — same read-only 64-bit ROM, family code 01h.
  • Taller F3 can (Ø17.35 mm) suits flush-mount receptors and panels where the F5 flange is unwanted.
  • Same 1-Wire reader compatibility and −40 to +85 °C rating as the F5.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the F3 and F5 cans?

Only height: both are Ø16.25 mm, but the F3 is 3.10 mm high against the F5’s 5.89 mm, and has no flange. The silicon and electrical behaviour are identical.

Does it read on the same readers as the F5?

Yes — electrically it is the same DS1990A-compatible 64-bit ROM key; any Dallas-branch reader accepts it.

When should I pick the F3 form?

Flush-mount receptors, adhesive checkpoint mounting, and panel applications where the flanged F5 physically does not fit — the low profile sits nearly level with the surface.
